We believe in taking collective responsibility and work collaboratively as a professional learning community to engage in rigorous data analysis and professional learning that enables us to focus on our continual strive for improvement.
We pride ourselves on our innovative academic program which prioritises explicit instruction to deliver core concepts in English and Mathematics. We deliver engaging specialist and extra-curricula programs using an Inquiry-based approach to enable our students to be equipped with the knowledge, skills and learner dispositions that will prepare them to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Our school values of care, aspiration and respect underpin who we are as a community. They provide our students with a framework to develop core principles that empower them to make active and meaningful contributions to both their school and wider communities. A consistent, school-wide approach to establishing routines and protocols that focus on positive behaviours further enhance our ability to provide a harmonious learning environment.
Sandy East PS has undergone extensive building works and renovations over the past few years, all of which will be finished by the end of 2024. In addition to newly appointed classrooms, natural playscape, newly turfed sports oval and full-size gymnasium/basketball stadium is the completion of the renovation to the original heritage-listed administration building. The building will be home to the administration offices and a wonderful new STEM Centre (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) complete with its own outdoor learning space.
Together with our passionate teachers, supportive parents, and engaged community members, we strive to cultivate a love for learning and celebrate success. As the Principal, I am truly excited to witness the growth and accomplishments of our students as they embark on this enriching educational journey of discovery, growth and achievement.
