The Resilience Project
At SEPS, we teach The Resilience Project, helping students develop essential well-being skills through gratitude, empathy, and mindfulness (GEM). Through engaging lessons and activities, students build emotional resilience, strengthen connections, and learn practical strategies to support their mental health in everyday life.

SEPS Communities
Every SEPS student belongs to a multi-age “community” based on their House—Waratah, Esperance, Eucalyptus, or Wattle. These groups meet fortnightly on Friday afternoons, fostering House spirit through collaborative problem-solving, games, and challenges. This strengthens their connection to our inclusive environment, where they feel valued and respected. Through teamwork, both in the classroom and outdoors, students build social and emotional skills while forming new friendships, strengthening school pride, and creating lasting bonds.
SEPS Academy
Every other Friday afternoon, SEPS Academy offers students the chance to explore a passion chosen from a diverse range of activities. From coding, robotics, and creative arts to sports, media, mindfulness, and outdoor adventures, there’s something for everyone. Whether they join The SEPS Newsroom, cheerleading, or Parks & Rec, students can develop new skills, make friends, and have fun in a supportive multi-age environment.
Zones of Regulation
At Sandy East, students learn about The Zones of Regulation. This approach categorises emotions and states of alertness into four coloured “Zones”. Each one helps children recognise how they are feeling (emotionally and physically) and provides strategies to manage their emotions and behaviours.
The Zones of Regulation is a powerful tool that can help children better understand and manage their emotions. By using this framework, parents can support their child’s emotional development and contribute to a more harmonious home environment with language that is consistent with what the students use at school.

At SEPS, we teach The Cyber Safety Project to empower students with the knowledge and skills to navigate the online world safely. Through interactive lessons, they learn about digital responsibility, online security, and respectful online behavior, helping them become safe and confident digital citizens.
